Storm Drain Brush Fire

This morning BFD responded to the area of Huntingtown Rd for the outside smell of burning. On investigation engine 51 found that an individual had dumped what looks to be ashes from a fire place into a storm drain full of leaves. Crews filled the drain to extinguish the fire.

Weekend Drill

This weekend the members of BFD held a drill to train the new members of the department on the use of hydraulic cutting tools used in the rescue operations if a person was to become trapped in a motor vehicle.

Child Stuck In A/C Duct Work

BFD responded to a report of a child stuck in an A/C duct work. On arrival it was found the child had crawled aprox. 60feet before he dropped down to the basement level of the home. Members had to cut open the ductwork to locate and remove the child.

South Main MVA

Botsford Fire responded to a reported MVA with injuries this morning around 3am on Rt.25 in the area of swamp rd. One car had left the roadway and struck a rock embankment causing heavy front end damage. Both occupants were transported to danbury hospital.
